Welcome to the Dancing Butterfly Quilt Along, a skill-building quilt project that will teach you how to piece, applique, and free motion quilt a beautiful butterfly quilt. To join this Quilt Along, you'll need to buy a copy of the Dancing Butterfly Quilt Pattern.

This quilt pattern comes with twenty full sized quilting design worksheets to help you practice each design. Unlike our previous quilt alongs, this pattern comes with the videos to guide you step-by-step through piecing, fusing, and machine quilting the blocks for your quilt.

For the quilt along, we shared a series of shorter videos and posts:

My goal for this quilt along was to help quilters get more comfortable with fusible applique, learn the basics of satin stitch finishing, and how to fill free motion quilting designs into different spaces of a quilt.

This quilt along exceeded my expectations with quilters not only gaining skills for fusible applique, but also branching out far beyond the basic shapes to create quilts featuring all sorts of shapes from turtles to elephants to dragons.

Have you created a Dancing Butterfly Quilt?

Let's go quilt,

Leah Day
